The JBSS Logo
JBSS’ logo captures the centrality of Jerusalem to the Christian faith and resonates with Ezekiel 5:5, “Thus says the Lord GOD: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the center of the nations, with countries round about her.”
The logo is based upon the medieval woodcut map by pastor and theologian Heinrich Bünting from 1581. It was produced in Magdeburg (Germany) as part of his Itinerarium Sacrae Scripturae (Travel book through Holy Scripture). Jerusalem is in the center (blue) and is surrounded by Europe (Red), Asia (green) and Africa (yellow). Such an understanding is rooted in Scripture with Ezekiel 38:12 with Jerusalem as “the center of the world” and is followed in Luke and Acts where the Gospel radiates from Jerusalem. The colors in the logo approximate the same colors used by Bunting. We hope that Jerusalem – Zion will capture the hearts and minds of pilgrims and scholars alike in joining us on a journey in Jerusalem.
